Who walks with me?

“Who walks with me?” This question should be asked a thousand times a day, till certainty has ended doubting and established peace. Today let doubting cease. God speaks for you in answering your question with these words:

I walk with God in perfect holiness. I light the world, I light my mind and all the minds which God created one with me.

Lesson 156

A great quote from a great lesson. “Who walks with me?” is the question that is instantaneously answered, because the answer lies in you. It’s your personal experience with God, your creator, who created you in His Likeness.

Fact is, you are never alone. God does go with you wherever you go. This is not a justification to do whatever you want, but it is the fact of the matter. You ask and God answers in the same moment. When you go ‘off the mark’, you will know it. You might be going dandy on your merry way, and then suddenly everything turns dark. What happened? You forgot. You forgot to ask “Who walks with me?” You simply assumed that you knew already.

Today is a day of quiet introspection. A moment of stillness to let a new awareness come in. All things fall away and God reveals Himself to you. The question “Who walks with me?” offers an immediate deep knowing, the question “What is it for?” lets all things fall into place. Don’t be afraid to ask. God is in full communication with you every moment, and you will recognize that He has answered every question you have already. His Answer lies waiting in a treasure house that you have the key to open. You can simply use the lesson for today.

All gifts I give my brothers are my own.

As every gift my brothers give is mine, so every gift I give belongs to me. Each one allows a past mistake to go, and leave no shadow on the holy mind my Father loves. His grace is given me in every gift a brother has received throughout all time, and past all time as well. My treasure house is full, and angels watch its open doors that not one gift is lost, and only more are added. Let me come to where my treasures are, and enter in where I am truly welcome and at home, among the gifts that God has given me.

Father, I would accept Your gifts today. I do not recognize them. Yet I trust that You Who gave them will provide the means by which I can behold them, see their worth, and cherish only them as what I want.

I seek a future different from the past

From new perception of the world there comes a future very different from the past. The future now is recognized as but extension of the present. Past mistakes can cast no shadows on it, so that fear has lost its idols and its images, and being formless, it has no effects. Death will not claim the future now, for life is now its goal, and all the needed means are happily provided. Who can grieve or suffer when the present has been freed, extending its security and peace into a quiet future filled with joy?

I love the simplicity of A Course In Miracles. You really don’t need to look any further than the tip of your nose. Point to it, it is a good reminder that it’s always and only just you. The thoughts you are having are your thoughts. It doesn’t matter what they are about, you know now to take responsibility for them. And that is all thanks to the uncompromising message of this Course.

The last few lessons are amazing.

I judge all things as I would have them be.

I see all things as I would have them be.

Now let a new perception come to me.

It’s all happening in you. When you take full responsibility where responsibility is due, when you finally recognize that whatever you think or feel or do is what you choose, the miracle happens. And it’s so simple. It doesn’t depend on anybody else, because there really isn’t anybody else. It’s always just you, you are one with everything, and you recognize that oneness out of time. It’s not a study, you can’t understand it intellectually. When revelation happens it is always a joyous recognition that you didn’t have to do anything for it. It is of God. It is given. Pause for a moment in absolute gratitude, it is a miracle that this book is given you, and it is a miracle that you recognize your complete dependence on God.

Father, we wait with open mind today, to hear Your Judgment of the Son You love. We do not know him, and we cannot judge. And so we let Your Love decide what he whom You created as Your Son must be.

In fearlessness and love I spend today

This day, my Father, would I spend with You, as You have chosen all my days should be. And what I will experience is not of time at all. The joy that comes to me is not of days nor hours, for it comes from Heaven to Your Son. This day will be Your sweet reminder to remember You, Your gracious calling to Your holy Son, the sign Your grace has come to me, and that it is Your Will I be set free today.

God is with you now and He is asking you to spend this day with Him. He is always with you, but when you are busy with the hustle and bustle of this world, you don’t know it. You don’t realize how much you are tied up with the world and everything you believe you see and hear in it. It occupies your mind every single moment. You are so tightly wound up, but you don’t even know it. Take a deep breath now and hold it. Let the air seep out of your every being. Remember God. He is here now. He is your Father. He will never leave you.

We spend this day together, you and I. And all the world joins with us in our song of thankfulness and joy to Him Who gave salvation to us, and Who set us free. We are restored to peace and holiness. There is no room in us for fear today, for we have welcomed love into our hearts.

This is simply about an awareness, an urgency in you, to want God above all else. And in that, you recognize that there is nothing else. Don’t settle for nothing, don’t preoccupy yourself with the illusion. There is a place in you that knows your Father. There is a place in you where you are at Home. Be there today. Spend time with God. Let this be a day of happiness and love in the awareness that God is all in all.

This instant is the only time there is

I have conceived of time in such a way that I defeat my aim. If I elect to reach past time to timelessness, I must change my perception of what time is for. Time’s purpose cannot be to keep the past and future one. The only interval in which I can be saved from time is now. For in this instant has forgiveness come to set me free. The birth of Christ is now, without a past or future. He has come to give His present blessing to the world, restoring it to timelessness and love. And love is ever-present, here and now.

Let’s look at time for a moment. It’s an interesting idea. You do not realize that you actively sequence time until an awakened mind tells you: “You’re still doing that?” In that instant you recognize that you don’t have to sequence time anymore, that sequencing is a decision that you make, that all time is actually going on all the time.

You have been told in A Course In Miracles that you use the past and the future as a defense against God. You truly believe that by holding on to the past, by trying to understand it and going back to it, you can find safety in the future. It’s an illusion. There is no safety in this world that you can make, you can’t protect yourself against danger if you have given it reality to begin with. You are in a hopeless situation. What a joyous discovery.

Look at today’s lesson. It tells you that this instant is the only time there is. You can’t understand it conceptually, it doesn’t fit into any old frame of reference, but it is the truth. This instant is the only time there is. Look at it, lose yourself in it. This instant is all there is, so how could there be anything to fear? What is there to worry about? All things are taken care of in God. Let go of any idea about the next second, or minute, hour, week or year and you will recognize that everything you need is right here and now. It’s not a lofty idea, it is the truth. All you need is the Love of God, and it is here now. All you need is the Light of God: you got it. You are mind and pure mind, at one with your Creator. And the knowledge that it is so, is given you this instant.

Thanks for this instant, Father. It is now I am redeemed. This instant is the time You have appointed for Your Son’s release, and for salvation of the world in him.

The holy Christ is born in me today

Watch with me, angels, watch with me today.

Let all God’s holy Thoughts surround me, and be still with me while Heaven’s Son is born.

Let earthly sounds be quiet, and the sights to which I am accustomed disappear.

Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home.

And let Him hear the sounds He understands, and see but sights that show His Father’s Love.

Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today.

The lessons in the workbook are pure poetry and that is definitely the experience with today’s lesson. The beauty of it is astounding, the words resonate in you and you remember Who you are. You recognize that this Course is a message from out of time, that it is not of this world. You feel the words working in you, the message instantly recognized if you let it. This is not about conceptual understanding, it is about an experience. And the experience is in you.

Your Son is welcome, Father. He has come to save me from the evil self I made. He is the Self that You have given me.  He is but what I really am in truth. He is the Son You love above all things. He is my Self as You created me. It is not Christ that can be crucified. Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son.

The Self that God has given you is what saves you. This Self can’t be changed, it is kept safe in you. What is created by God can’t be changed and so you can rest assured that your true Inheritance is pure and undefiled. Today you recognize this Self as what you are and it is in that recognition that the holy Christ is born in you today. He was always in you, but now you let Him come out, you let Him speak through you, and in that is His birth. Recognize your safety in God and be willing to do whatever He asks. That, and only that, will bring you eternal happiness.

And God Himself shall wipe away all tears

Father, unless I judge I cannot weep. Nor can I suffer pain, or feel I am abandoned or unneeded in the world. This is my home because I judge it not, and therefore is it only what You will. Let me today behold it uncondemned, through happy eyes forgiveness has released from all distortion. Let me see Your world instead of mine. And all the tears I shed will be forgotten, for their source is gone. Father, I will not judge Your world today.

God’s world is happy. Those who look on it can only add their joy to it, and bless it as a cause of further joy in them.  We wept because we did not understand. But we have learned the world we saw was false, and we will look upon God’s world today.

Does God have hands? Does He know about tears? In truth God doesn’t really know anything about pain and suffering, but the only way you can relate to Him is in your belief that He has a body like you do, and knows about your pain like you do. Jesus tells you in the introduction to review V in the Workbook:

I take the journey with you. For I share your doubts and fears a little while, that you may come to me who recognize the road by which all fears and doubts are overcome. We walk together. I must understand uncertainty and pain, although I know they have no meaning. Yet a savior must remain with those he teaches, seeing what they see, but still retaining in his mind the way that led him out, and now will lead you out with him. God’s Son is crucified until you walk along the road with me.

Everything is given you, including the idea of a God that knows of your pain. You are given this so you can go beyond the tragedy, beyond the drama, and recognize the joy and love that you are. This awareness is in you, it always has been, and it has been kept safe. God put the memory of your Self in a place that can’t be defiled, a place that can never be tainted. It is in you. Today it is given you to look on God’s world, to see beyond the eyes, to hear beyond the ears. Let all things be revealed to you today, give your life to God to guide today.

Forgiveness is the only gift I give

Forgiveness is the only gift I give, because it is the only gift I want. And everything I give I give myself. This is salvation’s simple formula. And I, who would be saved, would make it mine, to be the way I live within a world that needs salvation, and that will be saved as I accept Atonement for myself.

It’s a simple lesson today, and so true. You give forgiveness to receive forgiveness. That is the law of God, that to give and to receive are one in truth. God does not know about forgiveness, simply because there is in reality nothing to forgive. But you who believe that you are in a body, amongst other bodies, need forgiveness to recognize that you and your brother are one and already joined in Heaven.

Father, how certain are Your ways; how sure their final outcome, and how faithfully is every step in my salvation set already, and accomplished by Your grace. Thanks be to You for Your eternal gifts, and thanks to You for my Identity.

Be grateful that you have been given the key to salvation: forgiveness. All it says is what was never true is not true now and never will be. The impossible has not occurred. It is through forgiveness that you recognize this to be so. This world was over a long time ago, you are home and in Heaven right now. Your Identity in God is your true Identity, it has nothing to do with this world, it is set in Heaven by God and is eternal.

The Holy Spirit speaks through me today

The Holy Spirit needs my voice today, that all the world may listen to Your Voice, and hear Your Word through me. I am resolved to let You speak through me, for I would use no words but Yours, and have no thoughts which are apart from Yours, for only Yours are true. I would be savior to the world I made. For having damned it I would set it free, that I may find escape, and hear the Word Your holy Voice will speak to me today.

The Holy Spirit needs your voice today. You do this for yourself. To let the Holy Spirit speak through you is your awakening, is your declaration that you are as God created you. It is your necessity. Forget the world for a moment, forget the idea that there is someone out there to save, the fundamental teaching and experience is that your declaration as savior awakens a memory in you.

There is an incredible frequency of light right now and it is uncompromising. This has nothing to do with the figures in your dream, this happens in you in a moment of pure communication with God. In a moment of stillness, where you go ‘in the closet’, where you close the door on the world and listen, the holy instant happens and your are instantly reborn. Now you go out into the world, the newborn world, and speak the word of God. You are an extension of Him, because you know that you are as He created you. Beyond all the senseless babble, beyond all the attempts to limit A Course In Miracles to some sort of worldly bodily healing of addiction, beyond you as a limited self-identity, there is an experience of something that words can’t express. Let the Holy Spirit speak for you, and in the expression of His Word experience your oneness with Him. In one holy instant everything happens and it happens in you.

We teach today what we would learn, and that alone. And so our learning goal becomes an unconflicted one, and possible of easy reach and quick accomplishment. How gladly does the Holy Spirit come to rescue us from hell, when we allow His teaching to persuade the world, through us, to seek and find the easy path to God.

The Holy Spirit looks through me today

In your awakening there are sudden shifts that take place. You can’t name them, but you are aware that they happen. And so you suddenly might feel a strong urge to stop everything that you are doing and to go inward: listen to that. Transformation is mental, it is physical, it includes everything in your awareness. And things that were common and comfortable can suddenly be strange and alien to you. You are changing, you are turning your will and your life over to God. Let things change. Trust in God.

Christ asks that He may use my eyes today, and thus redeem the world. He asks this gift that He may offer peace of mind to me, and take away all terror and all pain. And as they are removed from me, the dreams that seemed to settle on the world are gone. Redemption must be one. As I am saved, the world is saved with me. For all of us must be redeemed together. Fear appears in many different forms, but love is one.

This is your dedication that really has nothing to do with anybody else, because there really isn’t anybody else. I know, you have heard it all before, and you are probably nodding your head as you are reading this. But the fact is that there is nothing outside of you and that you are dreaming. You need guidance out of this dream, you want to awaken, and today’s lesson offers you this. You offer your eyes, everything you see, to the Holy Spirit. You want honesty today. And honesty is consistency. There is no point in declaring that you are not a body and to still be bound by dieting and your definition of health and beauty. You can declare that you are mind and pure mind and yet express in the next sentence that you are aging and that it means so and so… Be honest, look at where you still hold on to old ideas and be willing to let them go. You are not a body. Fact. You are mind and pure mind. Fact. Just let it be so. There is a higher frequency of light available to you and God takes you there if you let Him. Every lesson in the workbook is a thought of God that lifts you high above this world. From this frequency of light you will see things differently.

My Father, Christ has asked a gift of me, and one I give that it be given me. Help me to use the eyes of Christ today, and thus allow the Holy Spirit’s Love to bless all things which I may look upon, that His forgiving Love may rest on me.

My present happiness is all I see

Unless I look upon what is not there, my present happiness is all I see. Eyes that begin to open see at last. And I would have Christ’s vision come to me this very day. What I perceive without God’s Own Correction for the sight I made is frightening and painful to behold. Yet I would not allow my mind to be deceived by the belief the dream I made is real an instant longer. This the day I seek my present happiness, and look on nothing else except the thing I seek.

When your awakening is all you want, when you are determined to see things differently, everything you need is given you. This is the simplicity of cause and effect. Now everything you encounter, everything you see or hear, every person you meet, is a chance for you to let things be new. You have been told in A Course In Miracles that you are dreaming and today you declare that you no longer will allow your mind to be deceived by the dream you made, you will no longer pretend that the dream has any reality. True happiness is offered you today, it is a happiness that is in you, that has always been in you, and that you could not experience because it was so heavily covered with the illusions of a dream that was never real. Today you ask for happiness, for your present happiness, and you choose to look on nothing else.

With this resolve I come to You, and ask Your strength to hold me up today, while I but seek to do Your Will. You cannot fail to hear me, Father. What I ask have You already given me. And I am sure that I will see my happiness today.
