This holy instant would I give to You. Be You in charge. For I would follow You, Certain that Your direction gives me peace.

This is the final lesson for this year, and it is one in which you hand your will and your life over to the care of God. This is no small thing, it is everything.

And if I need a word to help me, He will give it to me. If I need a thought, that will He also give. And if I need but stillness and a tranquil, open mind, these are the gifts I will receive of Him. He is in charge by my request. And He will hear and answer me, because He speaks for God my Father and His holy Son.

You finally realize, in your awakening, that you have no other choice but to ask for help every single moment. As your mind opens you recognize that every decision you make has consequences that you can’t possibly know about. And as you catch yourself making decisions over and over that cause pain to your brothers, that lead to outcomes you don’t really want, you stand in the experience that the only way to live is to ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit for everything. This is the moment of absolute surrender, this is the instant that you ask to know that this Course is true and that you are indeed as God created you. You don’t have to know how this comes about, simply apply the lesson and be willing. Let it be an adventure and let yourself be undone. Hand all your desires, your wants, your needs, your cares over to Him Who knows what you truly need and what will not cause pain to anyone. And you stay on your steady course to Heaven. There seem to be many small roads that lead away from the King’s Highway, but you do not have to linger on them. Keep your eye on the Prize and leave all that holds you back behind. Everything you need and that needs you will catch up with you, because the invitation is always open. But you take responsibility for your mind, you decide on what you want, and you stay on that course. All the Help of Heaven will respond and you will know that you are not alone.
