I Can Elect To Change All Thoughts That Hurt

Loss is not loss when properly perceived. Pain is impossible. There is no grief with any cause at all. And suffering of any kind is nothing but a dream. This is the truth, at first to be but said and then repeated many times; and next to be accepted as but partly true, with many reservations. Then to be considered seriously more and more, and finally accepted as the truth. I can elect to change all thoughts that hurt. And I would go beyond these words today, and past all reservations, and arrive at full acceptance of the truth in them.

Father, what You have given cannot hurt, so grief and pain must be impossible. Let me not fail to trust in You today, accepting but the joyous as Your gifts; accepting but the joyous as the truth.

It is a miracle to have A Course In Miracles in your hand. Truly. To be given a lesson today, a thought from God, to direct your mind to the truth… it is priceless.

Jesus has always taught that your reward is in Heaven. Every loving action you perform, every service to your brother, is a gift that cannot be expressed in a currency of any kind. Your mind should always be directed towards Heaven, because you really only want the reward that God gives you. The rewards of this world are always fleeting, no matter how satisfying they seem to be for a moment. They never last. You long for the eternal, because that is your true inheritance.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High.

So today, just for today, direct your mind to what is true. Give of your most loving Father, extend the light that you are. Your reward will be great and you will remember who you are as you see the Christ in your brother. When you look at it honestly: what else is there to do?
